History
Early ´90s:
The initial embedded solutions were developed, for example, protocol converters, for several German broadcast stations.
1993
The first generic control system for an OB van/mobile truck was delivered: An MS-DOS based product named ‘KC1500’, programmed entirely in assembler. The concept of a virtual matrix, where all inputs and outputs can be gathered together, was born.
1995
An editor for the KC1500 was created, the so-called ‘vmConfig’, which ran on Windows NT.
1996
vmConfig and the KC1500 were jointly awarded an innovation prize.
1996-2002
vmConfig ever increasingly became the core product, and changed from an editor into the controller software. Functions such as ‘virtual signals’ and ‘pseudo devices’ were developed and implemented.
2003
The company changed but the core designers remained… and from here on we started to focus on VSM as a true product.
2005
vsmStudio was established. This application is now running in a vsmServer cluster, and the complete system is TCP/IP based.
2006
The first large-scale, nationwide installations, designed for the control of routers and other equipment, are supplied to companies in Germany, Denmark, Canada, South Africa, Belgium…
