Virtual Studio Manager uses standard hardware components; standard servers and associated devices keep the system up and running. While vsmStudio software is the heart of the system, hardware solutions for various applications are also available. Most current broadcast devices already provide IP interfaces, but others are easy to integrate. Special Com server units are used to transfer serial protocols into the world of VSM. Even redundant connections can be set up for high security requirements.

To manage GPI/Os within the system, either third party units or VSM interfaces can be used. The VSM GPI series is highly integrated with the software, and has a neat 1 RU form factor that provides 64 GPIs, GPOs or GPI/Os. A network interface offers great flexibility in setup and integration.

The VSM UMD series provides clear text and multicolor tally status for any monitor. In operation, freely configurable remote switching panels of different types and sizes will suit any fixed or mobile application.
